Pork Butt Fundraiser – Spring 2018

Greetings Spartan Band Members and Supporters

Don’t miss out on this rare chance to score some of the real stuff!

David Ziegler, pit-masterButt Image $35 for the award-winning BBQ team Born in the Que S A will be donating his time and expertise to provide the Spartan Band supporters with his championship-caliber craft. Each pork butt is prepared fresh with the perfect blend of spices and seasonings before being slowly smoked on wood-fired BBQ pits that have been competition-tested. Your fully-smoked BBQ pork butt will come wrapped in foil ready to reheat with included instructions. Each butt serves approximately 16-20 people.

Don’t Wait! Orders are first come, first serve. Just a total of 60 butts will be available!

• Whole BBQ Pork Butt – $35 each, cash or check (made to WSHS Band Boosters).
• All orders must be paid-in-full in advance.
• All orders must be turned in by Friday, March 23rd.
• Turn in orders forms and payment to Mr. Sims in an envelope labeled “Pork Butt Funds”.
• Fully-cooked BBQ Pork Butts will be available for pickup at times listed below.
• Orders not claimed during the pickup times will be donated to a local food bank.
• No refunds can be given for unclaimed orders.

September Booster Meeting Updates

Greetings Band Booster members.
For those of you that missed our General Booster Meeting last night, we have provided some important info for you.
Candy gummy sales:  Still in progress with 9 students participating.  We have sold 15 boxes so far.  Have contract completed (attached) with $52.00 cash if you want your child to participate.

 

Panera Bread Fundraiser:  We have a Panera Bread fundraiser scheduled for Monday, October 2nd from 4 p to 8 p at 4530 Poplar Ave (in Laurelwood shopping center).  This is a great way for the WSHS Band Boosters to make some good money.  Bring the attached flyer or have a copy of it on your phone to show at Panera in order for the boosters to get funds.  Pass out to family or friends and consider posting on your social media to get the word out.  Please be aware that Panera does not allow flyers to be passed out at their restaurant.

 

Moe’s Night:  We are working on confirming a Moe’s night after football season.  The potential date is December 8th.  More info to come soon.

 

Car Wash:  We are looking at September 30th for the next car wash.  More info to come soon.

 

Football Game:  The band will NOT be attending the September 15th Arlington game.  Enjoy your Friday off!

 

Treasurer Update:  Our current booster balance is around 10K. Our Treasurer, Andre Brooks and VP, Lara Hunter, will be working diligently with Mr. Sims to get them updated quickly.  More info to come soon.

 

Band Fees:  These are due.  Please pay or communicate with us if there is an issue.  We realize some of you may be waiting on your student account update in order to use funds for band fees.  Please let us know.

Band Bylaws:  The bylaws were adopted last night by a majority of a show of hands (none were opposed). Please check the band website soon for an updated final copy. Read them.

Candy Fundraiser

Candy Fundraiser – Kickoff 8/30/2017

We will be starting the candy fundraiser on August 30th.  The candy will be different types of gummy candy (total of 52 in each box) and will be sold for $1.00 each.  The contract for participating found below.

 

Please make sure you read over the contract carefully. If you give permission for your child to participate, then please complete the contract and turn both the contract and $52.00 in cash to Mr. Sims. We are only accepting cash for this fundraiser.  You must have the contract completed & signed along with the $52.00 in cash for your child to receive a box to sell.

Financial Menu Added

Hello Spartan Band Members and Supporters.

Today we have added a new menu item to help with the Fees and Fundraising requirements of the Spartan Band members.

On the menu you will now see a Financial tab, and below it two sub menu items.

  • Fundraisers

The fee tracking page is linked to the spreadsheet sent out earlier today. This is where you can see the latest updates on your students band fees status.

Fundraisers will take you to upcoming and long term fundraising efforts.

One exciting feature that we are working toward is Online Payments. We will be partnering with PayPal for the online payment option. More to follow on that.

Car Wash Update and August 5th Car Wash Reminder

Greetings Spartan Band Members and Supporter,1stPrize

We made $833.09 from last Saturday’s car wash and even competed with 2 other car washes that same day.  Way to go!!!  A big thank you to all parents and students who came out to help.  We appreciate the doughnuts and the pizza too!

Let’s try to have an even bigger success with our next car wash scheduled for Saturday, August 5th.  We will have the car wash at the same location (band parking lot) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Let’s get some more signs made to advertise!!

Due to the excessive heat that we have had lately, the boosters would like to ask for donations of water for the kids.  Its a tough job washing those cars, so the kids need to stay hydrated.

We will work on having plenty of ice for the water.  If you would like to donate other items, then please contact the boosters at whitestationbandboosters@gmail.com

Hello WSHS Band Supporters.

Please remember to tell your friends and family about the car wash being hosted by the band students this weekend.

The event is being held this Saturday, July 22, from 9 AM – 3 PM at the WSHS campus near the band room. A donation of $10 per car would be greatly appreciated by the WSHS Band students.

Valentine’s Day Fundraiser

Good day Spartan Band Members and Supporters

We have a Valentine’s Day ❤️candy gram fundraiser in progress at the school. We will have a table set up during lunch to collect money for candy grams that the students can send to other students. The price options are $1.00, $3.00 and $10.00. Candy grams will be delivered on February 14th.

So far we have made $50.00 in sales but we really really need volunteers to help man the table with Shannon Wright from 10:45 to 12:45 on Thursday and Friday of this week and Monday thru Friday of next week. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please contact Shannon at 615-556-7384 if you are able to help.

Grandma’s Cookie Fundraiser Update

Grandma’s Cookie Fundraiser Update:

Good news!  We have raised $1,260.00 total in cookie sales!  🎉 Woo Hoo!  Great job 👏 to the students (and parents) that helped sell cookies!

And a BIG thanks to Lara Thompson Hunter for getting this fundraiser up and running and to other folks that helped assemble boxes, collect money, etc.

Winter ❄️ Band Concert Reminders!

Winter ❄️ Band Concert Reminders!

Winter Concert:  All band students MUST be in the auditorium by 6:45 pm this Friday for the Winter Concert which starts at 7 pm. Mr. Sims will lock the band room at 6:45 and will not reopen the band room until after the concert. Mr. Sims will not excuse anyone from the concert early since all students are expected to stay until the entire concert is over.

Bake Sale:  We will have the bake sale 🍪 before the concert at 6:30 pm and after the concert if there are any baked goods left over. We’ll have items in a decorative cup for 2.00 each (includes cup and baked good).  If you still want to bake for the sale, then it’s 3 cookies per bag, 2 brownies per bag and 1 cupcake per bag. Please keep these peanut free. You may bring baked items to the band room Friday morning to Lara or please have your baked goods by 6:15 pm Friday before the concert. There will be tables set up out in front of auditorium for the bake sale.

Poinsettia Sale:  If you ordered a poinsettia you may pick up after the concert. Poinsettia’s will be set-up at the stage. Please make sure that you only take what you ordered & paid for. If you don’t remember how many you ordered, Chuck will have the list posted at the concert.
