Color Guard Leadership and Information

Hi everyone! I’m Alice Chao and the Color Guard and Dance Captain. I’m a senior, so this will be my fourth and final year in color guard! During the concert season, I play oboe in the school’s wind ensemble; I also play in the Memphis Youth Symphony and am an active member of the program’s Student Advisory Board.

In my free time, you can find me having the best time of my life with my third nap of the day or binge watching random videos on YouTube.

Heyo! My name is Rebekah Butler and I am the Flag Captain and Co Captain of the color guard. This year I will be a junior! I am a staff member on the Scroll and a member of a few clubs such as, WSHEA, GirlUp, Model UN, and Key Club. In my free time, I love to practice piano, paint, and play video games! I also have a love for crocheting and daydreaming. I’m very excited for this upcoming year and I can’t wait to see where we go from here!

Hey y’all!! I’m Junie and I’m the Color Guard Co-Captain and Rifle Captain. I am a junior and this is my third year of flag and rifle. I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with my friends. I plan on furthering our guard programs’ outreach and cannot wait to see how we grow. This year is so exciting and I’m looking forward to working with you all.

Hi! My name is Harini Gopi and I am Social Media Manager/Secretary for color guard. Although I do not play an instrument in band, I do play piano, violin, and guitar, so I am very musically involved. My hobbies are thrifting, dancing, painting, gardening, and spinning, of course! I am very involved in our school’s extracurriculars, but being in color guard has by far been my most memorable experience! I cannot wait to work with you guys and have a great season!

Haiya! My name is Shivani Menon and I am the Event Manager of the color guard. I will be a sophomore and this is my second year of color guard! I am on the leadership staff for JROTC (I am the S-6), I am the Outreach Director for SAA, and I am also a member of a few clubs such as Debate, HOSA, Key Club, Knowledge Bowl, and Student Council. I love dancing, reading, and listening to music. I absolutely cannot wait to see how this year goes!

Chase Pittman is a junior in her second year of writing for The Scroll. She is a color guard officer and a member of Key Club, as well as an artist who specializes in flowers and other nature scenes. In her free time, she enjoys forcing her family to eat the food she makes, taking walks so long her family goes out to look for her, and spending too much time on overly detailed drawings.
