Meet the Director: Professor Smith is thrilled to work with the best band students in the city. A proud graduate of Tennessee State University, Professor Smith brings his love of music to the band room.
WSHS Band Boosters: The boosters are an organization consisting of parents, family, and students all with the common goal of furthering the music experience for the wonderful students in the WSHS Spartan Band.
Here is a list of the 2025 – 2026 Band Booster officers, with a short description of their responsibilities:
| Danyel Bonds | Band Booster President | Serves as the head of the Band Boosters, works in conjunction with the Booster Board, and presides at the Band Boosters meetings. |
| Cassandra Matthews | Band Booster Vice President | Serves as the Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee and presides at the Band Boosters meetings in the absence of the President. |
| Avlem Nicholson | Treasurer | Maintains records of the Band Boosters bank account; keeps the record of deposits and expenditures. |
| Jackie Thomas Yakita Brinson | Fundraising | Runs fundraising activities for the Band. |
| Juliet Williamson | Communication | Assists Mr. Smith and the Band Booster Board in disseminating information about band and Band Booster activities. |
| Shunterance McFerren | Secretary | Records attendance, minutes, decisions, and actions at the Band Boosters meetings; ensures minutes are posted to the website. |
